TNEA 2025 Eligibility criteria
Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission Process has set certain criteria for the students to get eligible for appear in the Counselling process. However, the eligibility set by this institute is easy to fulfil. Still, based on the TNEA 2025 eligibility criteria, only the seat will be an allotment to the candidates to be admission to the colleges.
TNEA 2025 eligibility for Native candidates:
- Candidates appearing for TNEA should be of age not more than 26 years.
- The minimum qualification required is candidates should have completed 12th/intermediate from a recognized board.
- Candidates should attain 50% aggregate for the general category and 45% for reserved category candidates are mandatory subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- Candidates should have passed their 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th from Tamil Nadu.
TNEA 2025 eligibility for Marine Engineering:
- Candidates should secure a minimum score of 60% in physics, chemistry, mathematics, and English.
- The candidate's minimum weight should be 48 kg, and the minimum height should be 157 cm, along with normal vision.
TNEA 2025 eligibility for other state candidates:
- A minimum of 50% aggregate score in 12th grade from a recognized board in mandatory subjects like physics, chemistry, and mathematics are mandatory to seek admission.
TNEA 2025 Application Form & fees
TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission) is a state-level admission procedure. The TNEA 2025 Application Form will be released in May 2024. Every year, it has been conducted by Anna University. TNEA is not an entrance exam. It is an admission process through which the university offers admissions in B.Tech/BE courses, as the university does not conduct any entrance exam to offer these courses. Admissions will be offered based on the score of the score of the qualifying examination (12th grade).. No separate entrance exam is conducted for admissions to the course while considering candidates' marks in the 12th grade, and the college sets up cut-off TNEA counseling, through which seat allotment will be done. TNEA 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants need to know the TNEA 202 eligibility criteria to seek engineering courses. Candidates qualified for the eligibility conditions will be eligible for admission. Some basic eligibility norms include Qualification, Nationality, Marks criteria, Nativity, Age limit, Appearing, etc.
Qualification: Candidates must have passed standard 12th from any recognized board.
Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India to apply.

Marks Criteria: Candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate in the qualifying examination to be eligible. In comparison, for the OCB category, 45% and that of for SC/ST category, 40% aggregate are required.
Appearing: Applicants appearing for their 12th grade are also eligible.
For Marine Engineering, Eligibility Required is:
Age Limit: Upper age limit to apply will be 25 years. The minimum age required to apply is 18 years of age.
Qualification: Candidates should pass the 10+2 level or equivalent exam from any recognized board.
Marks: Candidates must have mandatory subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in their class 12th and should have obtained 60% marks.

How to Apply for TNEA 2024
Steps to follow to apply for TNEA 2024
- Visit the official site of TNEA
- Click on New Registration Button
- Enter candidates' basic details like their name, valid phone number, email ID, etc., and submit them.
- On the new page, click the login button and enter candidates' credentials, i.e., registration number and DOB.
- Fill in all the information like the candidate's personal details, academic and communicational, and others.
- Now upload all the necessary documents like a photograph (passport size) and signature in the application form.
- The documents have to be uploaded in the format (jpg/ jpeg file)
- To proceed with the application fee payment, click on the payment tab and enter the application fee details.
- The application fee can be done offline or in online mode.
- Online payment shall be made via debit/credit card or Internet banking. A demand draft shall be made if the application fee is cleared through offline mode.
- In the final check, all the details are provided in the application form, and then take a printout to send to the authority.
TNEA 2025 Syllabus & Exam Pattern
As the entire selection process is based on counselling and merit listing and candidates need not appear for examinations, there can be no examination syllabus. The merit list is prepared based on the candidates' marks in the higher secondary examination. The higher the candidates' sscores, the better their chances of getting course admission.
Screening is done entirely based on the merit list the University prepares based on the marks candidates' scores in the Higher Secondary examination and meeting another point of eligibility, as prescribed by the University. The University will process the candidates' applications and prepare a merit list. All the open positions will be filled through this merit list, and there is no provision for any screening examination linked with this process.
TNEA 2025 Admit Card
There is no provision for Admit card for this screening as candidates will not appear for any examination. Still, admissions are made based on the university's counselling and merit list, based on the academic scores and the candidates meeting other prescribed eligibility criteria.
TNEA 2025 Results & Score Card
The admission will be based on the score attained in the 12th examination. The concerned authorities will declare the Tamil Nadu Engineering Colleges' admission merit list. Applicants who satisfy the university's eligibility criteria will be eligible for admission to their respective colleges through TNEA 2025 score.

TNEA 2025 Counselling & Admission
Counselling for the TNEA 2025 will be started soon after the declaration of the result. Candidates with an appropriate rank in TNEA will be eligible to attend the counselling process, and the seat will be allotted based on the merit rank.

TNEA 2024 Seat Reservation:
The admission authorities of Anna University allocate seats for the candidates based on the merit list. The foremost priority will be given to the Tamil Nadu candidates over the other state candidates. The candidates' choices will be considered during seat allotment, and once the seat is allocated, candidates will have to pay the fee.
TNEA 2024 Rank List:
The rank list of TNEA will be prepared by the admission authorities of Anna University, considering the scores obtained in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. The rank list will be available in June for those candidates who have completed the online registration.
The rank list is prepared based on the total marks, i.e., 200 of which 100 marks have been allocated to Mathematics and 100 marks to Physics + Chemistry. In case of two or more candidates obtain the same score, the decision will be based on the following:
- Percentage of marks in Physics
- Percentage of marks obtained in Mathematics
- Percentage of marks in the fourth optional subject
- Random number assigned
- Age of the candidate
Tie-Breaking Criteria for TNEA:
In certain situations, if a couple or more candidates will secure the same score in 12th and it becomes a tie, the tie can be broken between the candidate’s scores based on certain criteria.
- Percentage of marks in Mathematics
- Based on age (with preference given to the older candidate)
- Random numbers assigned to candidates will break the deadlock if the tie persists at this stage.
- Percentage of marks in optional subject
- Percentage of marks in Physics
