About Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET):
Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test – TANCET will be conducted by the Anna University on the behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu for aspirants wanting entry into MBA, MCA and ME / M.Tech / M.Arch. / M.Plan. These degree programs are offered at university sections, university colleges of Engineering, and Regional centers of Anna University, Government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges and Arts & Science colleges and self – financing colleges in Tamil Nadu.
Eligibility Criteria:
For M. Tech/M.E Programmes:
The applicant should have qualified any one of the following with a total of 50% (45% for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories)

B.Tech/B.E in the particular stream.

MCA Lateral Entry degree (2 years) after 10+2+3 year’s degree in B.Sc. (Computer Science / Information Technology or BCA.

MCA degree after 10+2+3 year’s bachelor’s degree course.

Master’s Degree in the important branch of Arts/ Science

B.Sc. degree in Computer Science / Information Technology and M.Sc. degree in Information Technology/ Computer Science

B.Sc. (5 years) Integrated Degree Course.

Applicants must get the Application form in person from the particular Co-coordinating Centers.

Candidates need to submit a copy of 10+2+3 year’s qualification mark sheet

Applicants have to pay TANCET Application Fees in cash or Demand Draft to receive a hall ticket.
Exam Pattern:
There is negative marking of ¼ for every wrong answer.
The TANCET question paper consists of three sections with Section 1 & 2 being mandatory while Section 3 will be on the particular selected discipline/subject
Obligatory:
Section 1: It contains total 30 questions with 1 mark for each right response.
Section 2: It contains 30 questions with 1 mark for each right response.
Discipline Wise:
Section 3: Applicants must pick a choice of a section out of 14 based on area of interest and answer 40 Questions with 1 mark for each right response.
Application fee:
The application fee for TANCET will be Rs 500 (Rs 250 for reserved categories such as SC/ST/SCA). Payment of TANCET Application fee can be made through cash or Demand Draft Drawn in favor of ‘The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University,’ payable at Chennai, received from any nationalized bank.
