NMAT 2025 Syllabus & Exam Pattern

Syllabus & Exam Pattern of NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT)

The GMAC sets the NMAT 2025 exam pattern. The online entrance exam lasts for 2 hours. Each student receives a set of questions randomly chosen from a pool, presented one at a time on their computer. The number of questions, time limit, and difficulty for each section are decided beforehand and are not affected by the test location or time.

The NMAT has three sections: Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning. Each section has its timer, and students must answer questions within that section's allotted time. Once they move to the next section or the time runs out, they cannot go back to the previous section. However, students can choose the order in which the test sections appear.

The NMAT exam pattern in 2025 changed in 2022. The total no. of questions in NMAT was reduced from 120 to 108. The time limit for each section was also adjusted. In the Language Section, the time limit increased from 22 minutes to 28 minutes. For Quantitative Skills, the time limit decreased from 60 to 52 minutes. In the Logical Reasoning section, the time limit increased from 38 minutes to 40 minutes.

NMAT 2025 Exam Pattern Key Features

Here are the main features of the NMAT exam pattern.

  • Three Attempts: Students can take the test three times in one admission cycle—once for the main exam and twice for retakes.
  • NMAT 2025 Slot Booking/Exam Scheduling: Students can decide on a date, time, and location for the exam based on their convenience.
  • Choosing Section Order: Students can select the order in which they want to attempt the sections of the NMAT question paper during the test. For example, they can decide to attempt the QA section first, followed by VA and LR.
  • Reviewing: At the end of each section, students can review their answers and make corrections if needed.
