The Xavier Aptitude Test, commonly known as XAT, is a national-level entrance exam held by XLRI, Jamshedpur. Its purpose is to assess the aptitude and skills of candidates seeking admission to MBA/PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) programs. More than 1,000 business schools across India accept XAT scores for their postgraduate management programs. As per the Schedule, XAT 2025 application form was released on 15 July 2024. Students will be able to apply till November 30 2024.

The XAT 2025 Exam Pattern comprises 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) that cover various sections such as Decision Making, Verbal & Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge. These sections evaluate a candidate's problem-solving skills, language proficiency, mathematical and analytical abilities, and awareness of current affairs. In addition, Varsity has announced the XAT 2025 Exam Date. As per the schedule, the exam will take place on 5 January 2025.

XAT Eligibility Criteria 2025

To be eligible to appear for the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT), candidates must meet the following criteri

1. Educational Qualification: Candidates should have completed a bachelor's degree of a minimum of three years duration or its equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university. The degree can be obtained in fields such as Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering, or any other professional specialization.
2. Final Year Students: Candidates in the final year of their Bachelor's degree program or pending final year results are also eligible to appear for the XAT exam. However, they must prove they have completed the Bachelor's degree within the specified timeframe if they are shortlisted for further selection rounds.
3. No Minimum Marks Requirement: XAT has no specific minimum marks criteria for graduation. As long as the candidate has completed a bachelor's degree from a recognized university, they can take the exam, regardless of their academic performance during graduation..
4. Working Professionals and Professional Degree Holders: XAT allows working professionals and candidates with professional degrees, such as Chartered Accountants (CA) or Company Secretaries (CS), to appear for the exam. It allows individuals with prior work experience or specialized professional qualifications to pursue a management program.

How to apply for XAT 2025?

The registration process for XAT serves as the initial step toward securing admission to XLRI. Prospective candidates must complete the online XAT 2025 application form and make the necessary payment to register for the entrance test. It is important to note that the XAT application form also serves as the XLRI application form, and candidates must indicate their interest in XLRI by checking the corresponding field within the XAT form to be considered for admission to the institute. 1. Visit the official website for XAT 2025.
2. Select the "New Registration" option and provide the relevant details as requested.
3. A unique XAT ID and XAT 2025 registration link will be sent to the candidate's verified email ID upon successful registration.
4. Click on the provided registration link to verify your registration.
5. Return to the XAT 2025 homepage and select the "login" option.
6. Enter your email ID and password to access the XAT 2025 Online form
7. Fill in all the mandatory fields of the XAT  application form.
8. Review the entered information carefully before submitting the form to ensure accuracy.
9. Proceed to pay the XAT 2025 application fee using a credit/debit card, UPI, or net banking at your convenience.
10. Candidates can select up to four cities in the XAT application form where they prefer to take the exam. The examination body will allocate the XAT 2025 exam centre based on availability in the city with the first preference. If seats are unavailable in the first-choice city, the allocation will be made in the subsequent selected city.

XAT Exam Pattern and Syllabus 2025

The XAT 2025 exam syllabus covers essential topics in Verbal & Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge. However, it's important to note that Decision Making is a unique section with a vague syllabus. Candidates can refer to the question papers and sample test papers from the preceding years to prepare for this section. The remaining three subjects in the XAT syllabus have their essential topics:

1. Decision Making: This section consists of passages related to business and ethical situations.
2. Verbal & Logical Ability: This section includes Reading Comprehension, English Grammar, Vocabulary, and Verbal Ability.
3. Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation: Topics covered in this section include Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Set Theory, and more.
4. General Knowledge: The GK section encompasses topics related to politics, culture, society, personalities, business, art & entertainment, sports, inventions, innovation, world, economy, science, technology, books, etc.

The XAT exam pattern 2025 is conducted online, and the question paper consists of 105 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to be solved within a time limit of 210 minutes. Each section has a designated time limit, so candidates must maintain a good pace across all sections. The marking scheme for XAT is as follows:

• Each correct answer carries one mark.
• Each incorrect answer has a penalty of -0.25 marks.
• If more than eight consecutive questions are left unanswered, a deduction of -0.10 marks is applied.
• There is no negative marking in the General Knowledge section.
• The General Knowledge section scores are not considered in the overall calculation of the XAT score.
• The Essay Writing section is evaluated separately during the selection process, and the score is considered for shortlisting candidates for the personal interview (PI) round.

XAT 2025 Exam Preparation

To excel in XAT 2025, dedicate 6-9 months to preparation. Dividing time equally among the four sections, which are Decision Making, Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge, is crucial. Analyze your strengths and weaknesses, starting with solid areas to build confidence. Join online study groups, acquire XAT books, and solve practice problems after understanding concepts. Prioritize completing the syllabus before attempting at least 25-30 mock tests for optimal performance.

XAT Result 2025

The XAT 2025 result will be declared approximately 20 days after the exam. Candidates must visit the official XAT and XLRI websites to download their scorecards. Follow these steps:

1. Visit the XAT ONLINE website.
2. Click on the 'scorecard' tab.
3. Enter your XAT User ID and birth date, then click 'login.'
4. Download your XAT result cum scorecard and save it as a PDF.
5. Note that the XAT scorecard validates XLRI Jamshedpur admission for one year. If you decide to take a gap year, you must appear for the exam again.

XLRI Selection Process Through XAT 2025

• In the first stage, candidates will be shortlisted based on their XAT results for the group discussion and personal interview round.
• Once shortlisted, XLRI will announce the schedule for group discussions and personal interviews by the end of January 2025. Candidates must confirm their interview city online within the given timeframe.
• In the final stage, each candidate's XAT 2025 score, group discussion and personal interview performance, academic history, and other parameters will be evaluated to prepare the final merit list. Selected candidates will be notified to complete the admission formalities.
• It's important to note that other institutes accepting XAT scores for their MBA/PGDM programs have their own application and admission processes. Some institutes open their registration window before the XAT exam, while others start the registration process after the XAT result is announced.
