TNEA Counselling Process 2025

TNEA counselling will happen online in four to five rounds. About 54 centres have been set up in Tamil Nadu to help with this process. Each district will have one or more centers to assist students based on the area and number of applicants. TNEA Counselling 2025 for the General category will begin online. Students selected need to attend counseling based on their total marks and ranks. Through TNEA 2025, students can gain admission to various BTech courses at institutes across Tamil Nadu.

  • Choosing Preferences: Students get three days to pick their favourite colleges and courses in order of preference.
  • Allocation: Seats are assigned considering factors like rank, community, and seat availability.
  • Confirming Allocation: Students need to confirm their assigned seats within two days. Not confirming it might lead to losing the seat. Once allocated, students have these options available:
  • Accept and Join: Students who accept their seats need to download the provisional allotment order and join their college before the specified date. If they don't, their seat might be cancelled.
  • Accept and Move Up: Students wanting a better option will get a tentative seat offer. They must confirm their previous seat and pay fees for the new one.
  • Decline and Move Up: Students unhappy with their seats but aiming for a better one will move to the next stage.
  • Decline and Move to the Next Round: Students unsatisfied with their seats but not waiting for a better one can choose this.
  • Decline and Withdraw: Students not getting their preferred seat can opt out of the process.
  • Move Up or Move to the Next Round: Students not getting any seats will have this option. They may get a seat if available or move to the next round.

TNEA 2025 Application Form

The TNEA application process includes registering, filling out the form, checking it, paying the fee, and getting the final report. This report confirms that the form is submitted correctly. Students must print this report for their records. After registering for TNEA 2025, students will get a random number. They will receive this number via SMS or can check it by logging into their accounts.

Here are the steps to apply for TNEA 2025:

Step 1 - TNEA 2025 Online Registration:

On the registration page, students provide their name and email ID, create a password, specify nationality, nativity, religion, and community, indicate if they studied from 8th to 12th standard in Tamil Nadu or not, enter their date of birth, mobile number, gender, and qualifying exam details (number, month, and year of passing). After entering an OTP sent to their mobile number, students click 'register' to receive their user ID via SMS.

Step 2—Login: Students log in to access the application form using the provided user ID and password.

Step 3 - Complete the Online Application Form: Students fill in personal information, reservation details, scholarship details, school information, and academic details.

Step 4—Assess and then submit the Application: Students should review the completed application form for errors before submitting it.

Step 5 - Payment of Application Fee: Students pay the application fees online using a debit card, net banking, or credit card.

The application fee is as follows:

  • Special Reservation Category (per selection): Rs. 100
  • SC/ST/SCA (Tamil Nadu): Rs. 250
  • General Category: Rs. 500

Step 6—Print the application form: After submitting academic details, students print a copy of the application form for future reference during the admission process and keep it safe until the process is complete.

TNEA Document Verification 2025

Uploaded certificates will be checked for accuracy at the TFCs chosen by students during the online application. Details about the certificate upload and verification process will be given after registration is complete.

  • If the status says "Incomplete," students must scan all necessary certificates into one PDF file and upload them.
  • After uploading, they should finish the process and log out.
  • If the status says "Upload not completed" or "Upload status as Not started," students should scan all certificates into one PDF file and upload them.
  • After uploading, they should finish the process and log out.
  • If the status says "In Progress," certificate verification is happening.
  • If the status says "Completed successfully," it means certificate verification for that application is done.

TNEA Seat Allotment 2025

Once students have finalized their choices, the system will tentatively allocate seats based on rank and their preferred order.

  • Students can view this allocation the day after finalizing their choices. Then, students can either accept, reject, or decline the tentative allotment.
  • This option is provided to gather the candidate's decision based on the preliminary allocation.
  • The authority will publish the first list of seat allotments for TNEA Admission 2025 online.
  • This list is based on the merit list, choices made by students, and their category.
  • Students need to log in to their Tamilnadu Engineering admission account to view the seat allotment result.
  • They can either accept the seat or give it up to participate in the next round of allotment.
  • Once they confirm the seat, students must report to their assigned college/institute in Tamil Nadu.
  • After receiving the final allocation, students must go to their assigned college within the given time for Tamil Nadu engineering admission.
  • They need to pay the remaining fees at the college (minus the initial deposit paid during Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission).
  • The provisional allocation they received will be cancelled automatically. However, they can request a refund of the initial deposit from Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission.

TNEA Cutoff 2025

The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) will announce TNEA cutoffs separately for the General and Vocational categories. These cutoffs are community-wise for all students. TNEA cutoff score represents the minimum mark needed for BTech course admission. After each counselling round, TNEA 2025 cutoff scores will be posted on the official website. Cutoffs vary across colleges and categories.
