SPPU Admissions 2022: Introduced a four-year UG program
According to the SPPU, the new Four year UG programme will assist students in research and further studies while also pursuing a PhD.
From the academic year 2022-23, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) plans to launch a four-year undergraduate programme (FYUGP). According to the UGC, which released the FYUGP curriculum draught on March 17, SPPU will begin offering the programme in the following academic year.
According to the UGC, the FYUGP was proposed in the new National Education Policy 2020, which offers students a variety of exit and entry options. The UGC has asked stakeholders for feedback on the draught framework until April 4 to finalise it. The programme is divided into eight semesters. Then students will need 160-176 credits for a four-year degree with honours or research.
During the first three semesters, a student who enrols in the course and takes SPPU admission will take a series of 'common' and 'introductory' courses. The disciplines in natural sciences, social sciences and humanities are offered.
Students will be required to declare a 'major' subject and two minors related to a disciplinary or interdisciplinary area of study at the end of the third semester. After the first year (two semesters), the student will be awarded a certificate. Followed to this, a diploma certificate in the second year a bachelor's degree in the third year will be awarded.
