At Present, Sathayabama University, Renamed into Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (SIST Chennai). The institution came into existence in 1987. NAAC accredits SIST Chennai with Grade "A". SIST is regarded as the premier technical institute, providing academic engineering, technology, science, and education programmes. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, has designated Sathyabama University as an A Category university. It is also an ISO certified University. In recognition of the University's continued improvement and commitment to science and technology, it was granted the title of Deemed University in 2001. Sathyabama University offers 27 UG level programs and 41 PG level programs in all disciplines.
