Osmania University is one of the country's most prestigious universities and one of the country's oldest. The University exists in Hyderabad, Telangana, in the contemporary region of the state. Osmania is one of India's top 50 universities. Osmania University is a member of the UGC, NAAC, and AIU. P.V. Narsimha Rao, the former Prime Minister of India, and Jaipal Reddy, the 16th and last Chief Minister of unified Andhra Pradesh, are among the University's prominent alumni.
Osmania University is a public state university in the Indian state of Telangana, with its headquarters in Hyderabad. It is the first institution to offer Urdu as a medium of instruction. Distance education programmes are also available at the University. Osmania University is the country's seventh oldest University and the third oldest in South India.
