The University of Mumbai has issued a set of guidelines in regard to the conduct of winter semester exams for all traditional and professional courses. University has declared examinations will be held online for first, third and fifth semester students. Vinod Patil, the director of the board of examination and assessment has issued a circular regarding the online exam highlighting that the examination to be conducted online, will contain multiple choice and subjective questions.
The University has asked colleges to organize a detailed survey in order to understand the requirements of students that he/ she will be able to take exams online. If the student is unable to appear in the examination due to poor internet, university has asked authorities to make arrangements to attend. In addition to this, students who do not have access to a laptop or tab will be assisted by local authorities. Even then, if a student fails to appear in the examination due to technical glitches, the college authorities will call in grace marks.
Students appearing in traditional courses such as - arts, science and commerce, will get 50 multiple-choice questions that should be answered in one hour. For professional courses such as engineering, MSc and pharmacy, 80-mark theory papers will be given to answer which will be divided into two parts- multiple-choice questions and descriptive questions.
Students will have to appear in practical and viva-voce examinations online due to the Covid19 pandemic.
