Maharashtra Govt. Postpones MPSC exam was supposed to be held on October 11. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced on Friday that the MPSC exam has been postponed which was scheduled to be held on October 11. Thackeray after meeting Maratha outfits and the cabinet sub-committee announced the decision.
This is for the third time Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) exam is been postponed by the government since the outbreak. The chief minister stated that candidates demanded that they needed more time to prepare for the exam because sources to prepare for the exam was not enough as libraries are still shut in the state due to COVID-19. Candidates say they are out of the lockdown now, but the number of cases is still not reduced and is been rising. Added to this Thackeray said that the exam had been postponed twice earlier for 200 posts and there are over 3 lakh candidates.
State PWD minister and head of cabinet sub-committee on Maratha quota Ashok Chavan said MPSC Exam was postponed due to coronavirus outbreak and not due to any pressure. Adding to this postponement of exam is final said the CM. Also, there was no objection and BJP MP Sambhaji Chhatrapati greeted to postpone of exam from the state government's decision.
By the time the exams are scheduled and conducted we hope that SC will take the decision on the implementation of the (Maratha) quota.
