Admission to the second year of engineering for B.E./BTech courses for the academic year 2024–25 in Maharashtra is done through the CAP (centralized admission process). Each of the candidates whose names are featured in the merit list will sit for CAP for the process, where the seats for DSE admission 2024 will be assigned. The place for the students will be assigned as per the merit number allotted to the student in the merit list.
There will be several steps in the Maharashtra DSE Admission 2024 CAP Counseling process. Candidates must participate in every step of the CAP procedure to gain admission. The detailed Maharashtra DSE admissions process in 2024 using CAP is outlined below:
Stage 1: Online Registration and Fee Payment: In this stage, candidates are required to complete a registration process and pay the appropriate fee. Candidates must enroll in the Maharashtra DSE Admission 2024, which will be available through online forms. In addition to the details provided in the registration form, the candidates will be required to pay an application fee.
Stage 2: Document Verification: The documents are verified online, so candidates must upload them while registering for the CAP.
Step 3: Release of Provisional Merit List, Conduct of Grievances and Appeals, Final Merit List: All the qualifying candidates will be displayed on the provisional merit list, which is published on the admissions department site. The candidates can also file complaints about changes in their qualifying exam scores. After reviewing all the complaints, we will release the final merit list for DSE admission 2024. The final list remains unchanged.
Stage 4: Category-wise release of seat matrix: The seat matrix is displayed based on the categories and the corresponding CAP rounds. Subsequently, before each round of CAP, the admissions department will issue a category-wise seat matrix. It will entail the courses and seat intake for each of the candidate categories. This matrix will allow candidates to make more informed choices when filling out the online form in the subsequent step.
Stage 5: Choice Filling Round: Candidates seeking seats through the Maharashtra direct second-year engineering admission 2024 must complete the online option form, selecting the courses and colleges they want to attend. The candidates' completed options will determine the final seat distribution.
Candidates have up to 300 options to choose from. It is imperative that candidates submit their preferences in priority order, with priority colleges ranked first, and so forth. The option form must be turned in by the deadline for applicants; otherwise, it will be automatically submitted based on the most recent information provided.
Stage 6: CAP Rounds: Seats will be distributed on the choices made during the CAP counseling rounds. Candidates will automatically lose their priority-based seats. These candidates cannot participate in subsequent rounds and must visit the ARC to receive their seats.
If they didn't get the seat of their choice but are still satisfied with their allocation, candidates must freeze their seats and show up at the ARC. Step 7: Provisional Allotment Release: Following the CAP rounds, the official website will display the temporary seat assignment. The provisional allotment will highlight the candidate's course and chosen institute for direct second-year engineering admission across Maharashtra.
Step 8: Reporting and Acceptance of Seats: Candidates assigned seats must report to the ARC to take them. Only after the acceptance of seats at ARC will candidates report to individual institutes for admission.
Stage 9: Institute Reporting and Fee Payment: The candidates aiming for the direct second-year engineering admission merit list of Maharashtra for the years 2024–25 shall have to appear for the CAP counseling session further.
