Maharashtra cancels final year and final semester exams

 

Due to the arising COVID-19 cases in the state, Maharashtra state government has decided to cancel the final semester & final year exams in several universities excluding for the professional courses, but any how the candidates who wants to appear for the examination must inform to their respective institutions. However, a decision concerning whether candidates can appear for examination will be taken based on the COVID-19 situation.

As per the report says, candidates who cleared all the previous semester exams, but not ready to appear for final semester or final year exam will be passed based on their internal assessment score and previous semester aggregate marks.

On 18th June 2020, state disaster management authority meeting was conducted by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. The reason behind the decision of final year & final semester exam cancellation has been taken because of safety concerns for candidates and by keeping in view of student’s health This decision would help the candidates and parents to avoid confusions which they are facing towards university examinations

As per the source, with in four days decision would be taken regarding the ATKT Examination and candidates who are having backlogs by conducting meting under the leadership of chief minister and with the presence of vice chancellors of universities.

Earlier, Mr Koshyari, Chancellor of state universities has provided approval to conduct all the Undergraduate and Postgraduate examinations of the MUHS (Maharashtra University of Health Sciences) which was proposed under Nashik Based Health Science University
