In Karnataka, final examinations for MBBS Students have been postponed to the February & March 2021.Previously, MBBS final exams was supposed to be conducted in the month of January 2021.As per the schedule, the exam for 1st year students will be held from 8th February 2021, whereas for the 2nd year and 3rd year students examination is schedule to be conducted between 2nd to 23rd March 2021 respectively
Earlier, Medical aspirants were protested by arranging Twitter campaigns in order to demand for the postponement of MBBS annual examinations which is going to be held in January 2021.The medical candidates raised the complained pertaining insufficient time for preparing to the exams and also raised the concern regarding ineffective online class and also because of the less practical exposure.
As per the sources, around 25,000 medicos participated in Twitter campaign, thereafter f AIDSO Karnataka met Vice Chancellor of RGUHS (Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences) and submitted the memorandum regarding the demand for postponing the MBBS annual examinations in Karnataka.
While speaking regarding the postponement of Annual MBBS examinations, Vice-Chancellor of RGUHS Dr Dr. S Sacchidanand stated “Postponement of MBBS examination will done as per the guidelines specified by National Medical Commission. He further stated, that not all the candidates were against the January schedule exam.
However, delay of the examinations leads to effect on academic calendar. Vice-chancellor also specified that there will be a partition between the batches and examination will be conducted for candidates who have backlogs in odd batch.
