Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is a central university founded in Aligarh in 1920 and relocated to Delhi in 1925. JMI provides undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies in various streams. JMI has been recognized for its academic excellence at the National as well International levels. It is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council have given it an "A" grade (NAAC). JMI has accomplished rankings and rewards from reputed ranking agencies, media surveys etc. As of 2021 NIRF Ranking, JMI secured 6^th Rank among all the leading universities in the country. In 2020, it was secured 10^th Rank in University Category. JMI has been proud to be among the Top 10 NIRF Institutions for two consecutive years.

JMI is also recognized globally for its excellence in the field of Education. JMI ranked in the QS World Ranking 2022 in the 751-800 range. US News positioned JMI in 1038. According to Times Higher Education Ranking, JMI has been ranked 401 for B Tech, 501 for Science and 401 for Life Science Categories.

• As per Round University Ranking, Jamia Millia Islamia placed 438 out of 1100  worldwide.
• According to the Outlook-I Care India University Rankings 2019, Jamia Millia Islamia is placed 3rd among the top 25 Central Universities and 17th among the top 100 universities.

Jamia Millia Islamia University Notable Features

• Jamia has several learning and research centres, including the AJK-Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC), the Academy of International Studies, and others.
• In the sphere of information technology, Jamia Millia Islamia is also making strides.
