IIT Roorkee has announced the GATE 2025 registration dates. Students can start registering for GATE 2025 on August 24. If you are interested and eligible, then you can fill out the GATE 2025 application form by going to the official website.

The last date to apply for the GATE 2025 exam without a late fee is September 26. However, if you happen to miss this, you can still apply with late fees until October 7. The authority has announced the GATE 2025 exam date. It will take place on February 1, 2, 15 and 16. This exam will be a computer-based test. This will have 30 different subjects. Each exam will last for 3 hours. The date for the GATE admit card 2025 has not been announced yet.

GATE 2025 Application Fee

Students must pay the GATE 2025 application fee to complete their online registration. You can pay the fee using credit or debit, net banking, or UPI. Female candidates and students of scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, or persons with disabilities have to pay Rs. 900 per paper. All of the other students, including foreign nationals, have to pay Rs. 1800 per paper. If a student applies for the GATE exam between September 26 and October 7, then, in this case, they have to pay an additional Rs. 500 as a late fee.

During GATE 2024 Registration, documents are required.

Students who wish to register for the 2025 exam should do so. Have to keep these documents ready beforehand. These are:

  • The student's photo is high-quality.
  • A high-quality image of the student's signature
  • A scanned copy of the category certificate in PDF format for category students
  • A scanned copy of the PWD certificate is available in PDF format.
  • A scanned copy of a valid photo, an identity document (such as an Aadhaar card, a PAN card, or a voter ID or passport),

The photo ID must include the student's name, date of birth, and unique photo ID number. You must also bring the original photo ID to the examination hall for verification.

GATE Marking Scheme 2025

According to the GATE marking scheme 2025, the exam will consist of both one- and two-mark questions. There is a negative marking for incorrect answers in MCQs, i.e., multiple choice questions: 1/3 answer in a 2-mark MCQ. However, there is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

GATE Eligibility Criteria 2025

The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, conducts the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2025 with the following eligibility criteria:

Alternatively, postgraduates with MCA, MA, or MSc degrees, or those enrolled in integrated programs such as MTech or Dual Degree (after diploma), are also eligible for this exam.

Age limit for the GATE Exam:

There is no age limit for applying to the exam. Students of any age can take the exam as long as they meet the educational qualification requirements stated by the officials.

How to apply for GATE 2025

To apply for GATE, students must complete the registration and application form submission processes.

Registration:

  • Visit GATE 2025's official website.
  • Click on the registration link.
  • Enter your full name, mobile address, and a valid email ID.
  • Create and confirm your password. It should be strong.
  • Submit the registration form to receive an enrollment ID in your registered email.

Filling out the GATE Application form:

  • Login to the GATE portal using your enrollment ID and password.
  • Fill in all your details, academic qualifications, and address.
  • Choose your preferred exam center and paper.
  • Upload all the required documents. Make sure these are scanned images of your photo, signature, and category certificate.
  • Pay the application fee via any payment gateway and then submit the form.

Students must make sure that they double-check all the details before submitting the form so that there is no chance of error. The application fee varies depending on the student category. The fee for scheduled castes, tribes, persons with disabilities, and female students is Rs. 900 per paper. All the other students, including foreign nationals, have to pay Rs—1800 per paper.

After successful submission, students must keep a copy of the application form and payment receipt for future reference. This step-by-step process ensures that all necessary information is provided and that the summit application form for GATE 2025 is correct.
