Per the GATE 2024 Data Science and AI sample paper, questions numbered 1 to 25 will carry one mark, while questions numbered 26 to 55 will carry two marks. The question paper will contain of 2 sections: general aptitude and the candidate's chosen subject. The general aptitude section will account for 15 marks, while the remaining 85 marks will be allocated to questions related to the selected subject.
For one-mark multiple-choice questions (MCQs), there will be a subtraction of 1/3 mark for each incorrect response, and for two-mark MCQs, 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. However, there is no such kind of negative marking for incorrect responses in Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) or Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
