Eligibility Criteria for Executive MBA in IIMs

Eligibility Criteria for Executive MBA remains same to regular MBA, the only difference is relevant work experience is mandatory for pursuing Executive MBA. Whereas, for regular MBA course work experience is applicable. In order to apply for EMBA Course at IIMs, candidates must full fill the certain eligibility conditions which is prescribed under admission committee.

• Candidates shall have completed bachelor’s degree BBA/ B. Com or any equivalent discipline with minimum 50% aggregate score from any recognized university or institute.
• Candidates must have secure valid score in National Level management entrance exam such as CAT, GRE, GMAT, EMAT or any other equivalent entrance exam.
• Work Experience is the primary eligibility requirement in order secure admission for EMBA at IIMs.It is mandatory for the applicants need to have full-time 5 years of work experience at managerial or executive level.
• The number of years in work experience varies from one institute to other, hence it is advisable for the candidates to make sure the eligibility conditions before proceeding to apply for preferred Indian Management Institutes.
• In some cases, concerned admission committee not only consider the years of work experience but primarily check the quality of work experience. To be noted, Part-Time work experience will not be considered for providing admission.

Selection Process for Executive MBA in IIMs

Executive MBA Admission at IIMs are usually done on the basis of common entrance exam such as CAT, GRE, GMAT, EMAT. After clearing the entrance exam, candidates can take part in further selection process such as group discussion/essay writing and personal interview. Most of the IIMs grants admission for EMBA through GMAT valid score. Candidates required to secure above 750 score in GMAT entrance exam in order to get eligible for admission at IIMs.

• Whereas, CAT sore is accepted by IIM Kozhikode, IIM Rohtak, IIM Shillong and this score will be valid up to 5 years. Apart from these, IIM Ranchi, IIM Trichy, IIM Raipur conducts own entrance test in order to grant admission for EMBA Course.
• Candidates who are willing to secure EMBA admission at IIM Bangalore and IIM Udaipur need to take up Language Test/Written Eligibility Test. Those candidates who qualify in the following test can take part in personal interview round for further selection process.
• If you wish to secure admission at IIM Kozhikode for EMBA, need to clear EMAT entrance exam which will be conducted by the same institute itself. However, selection will be done through personal interview. 
• Mostly, B-schools in India and abroad need at least two letters of recommendation or reference from the candidate. These may be from the candidate’s previous or current employers. In case, the candidate is sponsored for EMBA by his/her organization, he/she needs to submit the sponsorship letter from the organization.
