Besides, UGC has recognized it and is accredited by NBA for engg streams. It is also an ISO Certified Institution. Dr MGRERI is well preserved to nurture and groom young students through Medical, Engg, Architecture, Humanities, Dental & Sciences. Over the years, MGR Institute has been recognized by NIRF and secured rankings in multiple categories. The institute accomplished rankings under the Overall category, B Tech, Architecture, Dental, for three consecutive years 2021, 2020 and 2019.

Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute NIRF Rankings in 2021 was 151^st Under Overall category, 25^th Rank in Architecture Category and 35^th in Dental Category. However, In the Dental & Architecture field, MGR Institute has been featured among NIRF Top 50 Universities. As of 2020 NIRF Rankings, MGR Institute positioned in 251^st Place under Engg category. Dr MGRERI has 895 competent faculty members and a campus that spans 300 acres. Currently, 15852 students are enrolled in the varsity's various programs. In addition to the regular courses, MGR Institute offers a distance education program. Students' marks in JEE Main and NATA or JEE Main paper 2 are considered for admission to the B.Tech and B.Arch program, respectively. Whereas for MBBS admission at Dr MGR Institute, NEET Exam Score is mandatory.
