The National Testing Agency, NTA, conducts the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for UG admissions. It admits students across various universities and affiliated institutes in India. The CUET registration 2025 will begin soon on the official NTA CUET UG website. Candidates have to apply online and ensure they meet the CUET eligibility criteria for the academic year 2025. Reviewing the CUET mapping criteria while filling out the application form is important for applicants. Now, applicants can select a maximum of 5 CUET subjects. The CUET UG 2025 will be conducted in May 2025.

The UGC previously announced changes to CUET. It included the removal of certain subjects, modification in the exam, pattern, and standardization of exam duration and the number of questions. The total subjects in CUET UG have been reduced from 63 to 37. The removed subjects include 20 foreign languages and six domain subjects. According to the official CUET UG notification, the exam will be conducted throughout more than 15 days window.

CUET UG 2025 Exam Dates

The CUET UG 2025 exam will be conducted in May 2025 in CBT mode. It will be available in 13 languages and will include 23 domain subjects along with a common test. The detailed schedule is yet to be released on the official website. Candidates can check the tentative dates in the table below:

CUET UG 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are planning to take the CUET UG exam must complete the application form. Before registering, they have to meet the eligibility criteria requirements. Otherwise, that application will be rejected. There is no age limit for CUET UG applicants. Check the following points to know the detailed eligibility criteria:

  • Students who have passed class 12th or relevant exam are eligible to take the CUET 2025 exam.
  • There is no age restriction for applying.
  • Applicants must be Indian citizens.
  • Candidates must meet any age requirement set by the university. They must review the specific course criteria and select the CUET subject accordingly.

Changes in the CUET UG Exam

The UGC has suggested several changes to the CUET UG 2025 exam pattern to improve clarity in the examination process.

  • Each subject will have a time limit of 60 minutes.
  • Candidates can choose up to 5 subjects.
  • The exam includes 37 subjects. It will contain 23 domain-specific subjects in 13 languages.
  • Each paper will contain 50 compulsory subjects without any options.
  • The exam is conducted in computer-based test.
  • For courses where subjects have been removed, admission will be based on general aptitude test scores.

The NTA will release the CUET 2025 application form in a few weeks on its official website. Students must visit the official web portal to complete the application form process once it is available. To register, candidates need to upload all the necessary documents, fill out details, and pay the application fee.

How to Apply for Application Form

Step 1: Registration

  • To start the CUET 2025 application process, applicants have to click on the “New candidate registration here” tab.
  • They must provide personal details, contact information, and address to create login credentials.
  • After successful registration, candidates will receive their username and password.
  • After registering, they have to enter details like the father’s name, gender, identity card number, etc.

Step 2: Application Process

  • Candidates need to fill out personal details like domicile, state, residence, family, income, and other required details.
  • They must also enter education details, including board, name, passing year, marks obtained and roll number.

Step 3: Selection Of Exam Centre

  • Candidates need to select CUET exam centres. They must select centre in order of priority for appearing in the exam.

Step 4: Selection of Program

  • Candidates must select one or more universities and programs from the drop-down menu. Click the “Add” button.
  • They can modify that select selected programs by clicking on the “Update tab” option.

Step 5: Selection of Domain Subject

  • Candidates have to choose at least three and up to 5 subjects.
  • They also have to select the preferred medium for the question paper.
  • If selecting fewer than five subjects, they must choose NA options for the remaining fields.

Step 6: Upload Documents

  • Candidates have to upload scanned photograph, signatures, and other required documents.
  • After this, candidates must review all the entered details and verify their email address. An OTP will be sent to their registered email, and then they will be redirected to the CUET 2025 application fee payment section.

Step 7: Payment of Application Fee

To complete the application form, candidates must pay the required fee. Payment can be done only through online modes like UPI net banking. The fee structure varies for different candidates. Those candidates who have selected more subjects will be charged additional fees.
