CUET Changes 2025

The UGC recently released a number of key CUET New updates 2025 exam to make admission easier for students. The expected CUET changes 2025 will affect the candidate’s mode of writing the exam, subject selection, and how the exam is conducted. All the CUET exam changes 2025 mentioned below have the primary goal of making the CUET exam more accessible, efficient and unbiased.

  1. Re-introducing CBT Format

In CUET 2025, there is the introduction of a new format - Computer-Based Testing (CBT). Such a change of gear corresponds to the increasing popularity of the use of the Internet for exams. It also has more benefits compared to writing on paper. It helps in processing the results faster with greater ease, and provides standard testing and monitoring of performances. This CUET exam pattern 2025 will be of help to candidates to handle the test because a computerized system automatically adjusts to provide a smooth delivery.

  1. Reduced Number of Subjects

Consistent with the CUET syllabus 2025, the number of subjects for the exam has been decreased to 37. This change focuses on the number of subjects of choice options and ensures that students concentrate on a few subjects. The new pool contains 23 domain subjects, 13 languages and a general test. This way, subjects are revised to enable candidates to be in a better position to choose their preferred subjects by reducing the list of extensive subjects.

  1. Standardized Exam Duration

As to further improvements for CUET 2025, more standardization of the exam time was implemented. For every subject, the time will now be 60 minutes for its completion. This particular standardized exam time allows everyone equal time to complete. Hence, minimizing time management issues when taking the test. With this change, there should be no variation in time allocation for different subjects so that the candidates can plan their strategies well during the exam.

  1. Compulsory Questions with No Option

The CUET UG 2025 exam will also not have associated optional questions. This means that every question within the exam is mandatory. It also allows all the candidates to be tested on their entire syllabus and ready for every challenge in their subject. The exclusion of optional questions, therefore requires candidates to be thorough in their preparation with the confidence of handling any question that may come. This change could affect the way a candidate tackles an exam, and definitely, they will be forced to seek in depth study on CUET preparation tips 2025 and carrying out CUET preparation 2025 using CUET books 2025.

  1. Choice of Subjects

Earlier the candidates were restricted with subjects according to their stream of class. However, in the CUET 2025, the students get an opportunity to pick between 5 subjects, regardless of their stream in class 12th. This kind of subject choice option enables the candidates to choose a suitable combination of subjects of their choice. And also according to their potential. Hence makes the CUET syllabus 2025 flexible enough to cater large number of students.
