CUCET 2022 Updates: Exam date, pattern and syllabus
The CUET 2022 exam will most likely be held in the first week of July. The CUET 2022 application form will be made available in the first week of April.
With the announcement of a CUET for admission to 45 central universities by UGC chairman M Jagadesh Kumar, students have been left wondering what kind of entrance exam it would be. One thing is certain: Class 12 grades will no longer be considered for admission.
Based on the UGC chairman's statement, the following information is provided about the CUET exam date, subjects, syllabus, languages, test structure and CUCET colleges that will accept CUET scores.
CUET 2022 Date, Syllabus
According to the chairman of the UGC, CUET 2022 will most likely be held in the first week of July. The CUET syllabus 2022 will be the same as the NCERT syllabus for Class 12. As a result, whatever subjects students study in Class 12, they will be required to take an entrance exam on those subjects.
CUET test structure
Multiple-choice questions based on NCERT textbooks will be included in the CUET, and incorrect answers will result in a negative grade. The entrance exam will be held in three sections (see box). CUET 2022 exam duration will be for three hours. The CUET 2022 will be available in 13 languages, including Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, Bengali, Assamese, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia, Urdu, and English.
The exam will be directed in two shifts. Candidates will take Section I (languages), two chosen domain subjects, and the general test during the first shift. They will appear for the remaining four domain subjects and an additional language test in the second shift.
International students are exempt from CUET; their admissions will be handled following the existing supernumerary system.
CUET 2022 Exam Participating Colleges
Central Universities mentioned below will accept CUET exam scores for admission to their undergraduate programmes. However, according to university officials on Tuesday, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) have yet to decide whether to implement the CUET. The institutes stated that they had formed committees to investigate CUET implementation. They stated that they would decide once they received official communication from the UGC.
The CUET admissions process
Admission through CUET 2022 will begin in the first week of April, with the release of the CUET application form. The candidates can download their admit cards from the first week of July. The participating central universities will conduct their counselling and release the admission list and merit list based on the candidates' CUET 2022 scores.
There is no weightage given to Class 12th results.
Central University admissions will not be based on class 12th results. On the other hand, universities can use the Class 12th percentage to specify the minimum eligibility criteria. As a result, for UG admissions, central universities will no longer consider candidates' performance in class 12th.
Postgraduate Admissions to the University of Delhi
The University of Delhi has announced that admission to postgraduate courses will be granted solely through the Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET). NTA will administer the DUET exam as it does every year. Admission to undergraduate courses at Delhi University, on the other hand, will be based on CUET scores.
CUCET 2022 exam paper
The CUCET question paper 2022 will be based on the Class 12 model syllabus. To prepare for the CUCET exam 2022, students must consult NCERT books from Class 12. The CUET question papers will be designed to have the flexibility for students from various boards.
All Universities to be Accepted CUET Scores
Candidates should be aware that State can use CUET scores, Private and Deemed Universities to offer admission to students if they so desire. However, all Central Universities will only accept CUET scores when admitting students to their undergraduate programmes.
CUCET 2022: A maximum of six domains may be selected.
While taking CUCET 2022, students will be able to choose a maximum of six subjects. Candidates can take two domain-specific tests during the first shift of the CUCET exam and the remaining four domain-specific tests during the second shift.
CUCET 2022 merit list
NTA will not release the CUCET 2022 merit list. The central universities will release the CUCET merit list based on the scores obtained by candidates in the NTA CUCET exam. The central universities will use the CUCET merit list 2022 to provide admission to various courses.
