CAT 2024 to be held on 24 November 2024

Common Admission Test 2024 is the top-most aptitude test for getting admissions for postgraduate and fellow or Doctorate courses in IIMs. CAT is conducted in three sessions in a year. Students with valid cut-off scores in CAT can get MBA admissions even in non-IIM institutes. The CAT exam will be conducted in 170 cities across the country. IIM Calcutta is the conducting body of CAT 2024. As per the given updates, registrations for CAT 2024 are ongoing. The CAT 2024 portal has been accepting applications since 01 August 2024. Aspirants must visit the CAT 2024 official website at iimcat.ac.in. The CAT 2024 registration's last date is September 13, 2024. The CAT exam will be held on 24 November 2024.

CAT 2024 Eligibility criteria:

• Candidates applying for CAT 2024 must have completed their board exams along with a graduation degree with a least of 50% mark from a recognized University.
• For reserved candidates like SC/ ST min, 45% marks are accepted to apply for the examination.
  Even those who are in their final year of graduation or waiting for their results can apply for CAT 2024.  
• Students who have completed a professional degree, such as CA/ CS/ ICWA, can also apply for CAT 2024.
• Also, there is no maximum age limit required to apply or appear for CAT 2024.
   

How to register for CAT 2024:

As of CAT 2024, registration details are open starting on August 1, 2024. Aspirants must visit the main website of CAT 2024 and proceed with the application process.

• Students must enter the basic details and create a username and password as the login ID.
• Now, the candidates can log in to the website using the generated User ID & Password and continue filling out the CAT form 2024.  
• Candidates must enter all personal and course-related details and, if applicable, work experience while filling out the form.
• Further, the applicants must upload some of the mandatory documents in the authorities' specified format and size.
• The final step is to pay the application fees. The payment can be made online, e.g., through net banking, UPI, or even card payment.  
• Before clicking on the submit button, candidates must recheck all the details entered and then make a submission.
• It is good to take a printout of the application form for further reference.

 

CAT 2024 correction window:
The CAT 2024 correction window is expected to open in the last week of September 2024. This facility is given to students who want to make changes to the submitted application form. This window will be open for only a few days. The exact dates will be further notified to the registered candidates.
Candidates must use their login ID to make the changes and correct the errors. Later, they cannot make any rectifications. Thus, cross-checking every detail is important to avoid rejection of forms.   
 

CAT 2024 Exam pattern:
Knowing the exam pattern makes it easy for students to prepare for the examination, which results in better performance as well.

• The CAT 2024 will be conducted online, i.e., through a computer-based test.
• The exam lasts 2 hours or 120 minutes. For PWD candidates, 160 minutes will be provided.
• CAT 2024 will be conducted in 3 shifts in a year.
• The total number of questions in the CAT 2024 paper is 66.
• The entire CAT 2024 paper will have 3 sections to answer.
• As per the CAT 2024 marking scheme, +3 marks will be given for every correct answer, and 1 mark will be subtracted for every wrong answer.

CAT 2024 Syllabus:

CAT 2024 Admit Card:
The CAT 2024 admit card will be released on November 5, 2024. Candidates can download the form until the day of the examination, November 24, 2024.

• Registered candidates can access the admit card from the exam website.
  By using the login ID, candidates can check if their admit card is available.
• After checking all the details printed on the admit card, candidates can download it in PDF format.
• Candidates must print out the admit card and take it to the examination centre; otherwise, they will not be allowed to take the exam.
