CAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants in the general category must obtain an overall score of 50%.
- Candidates in the SC, ST, and PWD categories must receive 45% of the possible points.
- To take the CAT 2023 entrance exam, students in their final year may also apply.

Guidelines Issued by IIM while filling CAT application form 2023
- Make sure you match the minimal eligibility requirements before registering for CAT 2023 to prevent your candidature from being later withdrawn.
- Make sure you have a valid mobile number & email ID.
- Since this email ID & mobile number will be used for all communication during the admissions process, have the information on hand.
- All required fields on the CAT application form must be completed to submit it.
- You can update and complete the CAT registration procedure as often as possible by logging out and exiting.
- Prepare the data needed to fill out the six areas of the CAT application form: personal information, educational background, professional experience, test city, and programs.
- If you require the services of a scribe, don't forget to complete the Scribe Affidavit form, which is available on the CAT website.
CAT 2023 Registration Process
- Go to the official website. Select the "Registration" option under the "New Candidate Registration" section to register as a new user.
- The user ID and password generation window will open in a new tab. To generate an OTP, enter the necessary data.
- To complete the registration for CAT 2023, log in using the credentials you formed in the previous step under the "Registered Candidate Login" area of the website.
- The CAT Application form will be available in a new window.
CAT 2023 Exam Pattern
- CAT is a two-hour computer-delivered test.
- 66 questions total, divided into three divisions - VARC, DILR, and Quantitative Ability. In the past, there were three sections of 100 questions.
- Out of 66 questions, at least 18 will be marked without penalty. There are MCQ and non-MCQ questions in the Exam, with no negative marking for non-MCQs.
- In the CAT, there will be a penalty of 1/3 negative marking if there are more than 48 MCQs.
- IIMs shortlist candidates for the final admission stage by requiring a minimum qualifying score in each of the three sections of the CAT exam between the 70 and 90 percentile.
CAT 2023 Admit Card
The CAT 2023 Hall Ticket will be available for download online on the official website, iimcat.ac.in, from October 25 to November 26, 2023. Registered candidates must log in with their CAT credentials to download the CAT admit card. It's essential to carry the CAT admit card on the examination day.
The admit card has been issued only to candidates who successfully submitted their application forms on time. No candidates will be permissible to enter the exam hall without an admit card and a photo identity proof.
Candidates are advised not to bring any study materials or electronic gadgets into the examination hall. Bringing such materials will result in the cancellation of their candidature.
