BNMIT as a private autonomous institute was started in 2001 in Bangalore, Karnataka. BNMIT is affiliated to VTU of Belgaum with approvals from NBA and AICTE. BNMIT has secured NAAC accreditation with a grade of 'A' with good recognition and ranking.BNMIT is ranked as 201 for its B-Techprogram by NIRF in 2021.TOI has ranked BNMIT 34for its B-Tech program for the year 2021. BNMIT offers courses in UG and PG levels under the fields like Management and Engineering. The admission criteria in BNMIT is provided based on an entrance exam basis and merit. BNMIT has one of the highest placement drives in Bangalore, where more than 400 fortune companies visit BNMIT. The highest package offered in BNMIT is 16 LPA and 20 LPA for 2020 and 2021, respectively.

B-Tech at BNMIT is available in six streams. Whereas, BNMIT MBA Programme is available in six disciplines. In addition, BNMIT also offers M Tech at the PG level in two streams.
KCET or COMEDK cut off the rank is used to determine B Tech's admission in BNMIT.
Candidates who wish to enrol in an MBA degree at BNMIT must qualify in the KPGCET Entrance Test with a good rank equivalent to the BNMIT MBA Cut off standards.
