The written examination, Assam Police Exam for recruitment of sub-inspectors was cancelled due to the leakage of question paper but now will be conducted in November on 22. A formal notification said that procedural details shall be provided to candidates by The State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB).
The board poised that the examination process will be transparent to all the candidates and there is no doubt in receiving a fair opportunity to compete. Assam Police Exam is held to recruit as many as 597 sub-inspectors which was supposed to be held on September 20, minimum after it began the news was spread on social media that the question paper was found to have been leaked so the examination was cancelled.
For the written test Assam Police Exam for recruitment of sub-inspectors which held across 154 centres in all the districts had nearly 66,000 candidate’s appearance. After the leakage of paper on September 27, SLPRB chairman Pradeep Kumar subsequently resigned taking "moral responsibility" for the leak.
In this connection over 20 people have been arrested including BJP leader was accused in the recruitment scam along with one of the prime accused, Diban Deka is been arrested on Wednesday night after he surrendered. Deka, along with former DIG PK Dutta, had been absconding since the scam came to light. This is a public notice that for any information which could lead to the arrest of Deka and Dutta, Police had issued lookout notices and announced an award of INR 1 lakh each. The former DIG is not yet traced and it is reckoned that he was perforated up somewhere near India-Nepal border.
Following the Assam Police SI Exam Day Guidelines candidates will have to appear for the examination carrying their own face mask and maintaining social distancing as a part of the COVID-19 protocols. It is mandatory and the same Assam Police Exam Admit Card has to be carried.
