Counselling & Admission of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)

Candidates who have qualified NEET 2025 Entrance Test are eligible to apply for NEET 2025 Counselling. Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will announce the NEET 2025 Counselling dates on its official website. Candidates are recommended to check the MCC website www.mcc.nic.in for the most up-to-date guidelines. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare organize the NEET counselling (MOHFW). The mode of NEET 2025 Counselling is online. Candidates willing to secure admission seats in MBBS, BDS, Ayush, BVSc and BSc Nursing based on their NEET rank have to undergo counselling.

The counselling process of NEET will have several rounds, and it is organized to enable the allocation of seats at AIQ (All India Quota) and at State Level. Under AIQ Category, 15% of seats are reserved in each participating college. While 85% of seats are reserved in the state medical colleges for students from the respective states. MCC Conducts counselling for 15% AIQ quota on behalf of DGHS. (Directorate General of Health Services) Following the announcement of the Central Board of Secondary education's All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT) results, the MCC will post the NEET 2025 Schedule for online Counseling on its website.

  • Following the NEET 2025 Result announcement, the eligible candidates will be invited for counselling to get admission into NEET 2025 Participating Colleges.
  • Candidates must first register for NEET 2025 counselling, after which the procedure of choice filling and seat locking will begin.

NEET 2025-State MBBS/BDS Counselling

The state Counselling administrating body would conduct individual NEET counselling sessions for admission to the 85 per cent state quota seats. Based on the students' NEET results, each state authority will release a state merit list. Candidates will be called for counselling based on the state merit list. Also, admission at Private Medical Colleges in a respective state will be done NEET State level counselling itself.

Eligibility criteria for central universities

The eligibility criteria for each of the Central Universities are detailed in the sections below

  • All aspirants who have cleared the NEET entrance test will be eligible to secure admission to BHU.
  • VMMC and SJH- In this institute, AIQ seats account for 15% + AIR of the Institution quota. The remaining slots are reserved for students who have finished their 11th and 12th grades in Delhi-based colleges.
  • Delhi University - The university reserves 15% of its seats to AIQ. For the other 85% of seats, candidates who completed their eleventh and twelve grades in Delhi would be eligible.
  • Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) - This university will offer 50% institutional reservations to candidates who have completed at least three years of schooling there. The remaining 50% of seats will be reserved for all applicants who pass the NEET 2025 exam.

NEET 2025 Counselling Process

MCC will conduct counselling of NEET 2025 via online mode. For AIQ (All India Quota) seats, there will be two rounds of NEET 2025 counselling. For deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMS institutes, AIIMS, and JIPMER, a mop-up round for NEET 2025 counselling will occur. The following is a step-by-step procedure

Detailed step by step NEET 2025 counselling process

Step 1: NEET 2025 Counselling Registration Procedure

  • Candidates who are qualified and eligible must register for NEET Counselling by visiting mcc.nic.in.
  • To register online, candidates required to have their NEET 2025 registration number, name, mother's name, and date of birth must all be filled out.
  • Upon successful registration, you will be shown all the details according to the database. Verify it and click on "Confirm registration".
  • Thereafter, a registration slip will be generated. It is advised for the candidates to save the page for further reference.

Step 2: Make the payment of NEET 2025 counseling fees

  • Upon successful registration, candidates are required to make the pay the refundable & non-refundable counselling fees of NEET 2025.

Step 3: Choice filling and locking

  • In this step, Candidates must fill in their college preferences. The candidates should choose their preference based on their NEET Merit rank.
  • Choose the college as many as college and arrange it in order of preference.
  • Once you complete filling choices, don't forget to lock the choices.
  • After locking it, take the printout of locked choices. It includes the locking date & time and System generated Unique ID and IP address of a computer.

Step 4: Declaration of Seat allotment Result & Reporting

  • MCC will announce the seat allotment result after an individual round of counselling. Candidates must check in and download their seat allotment letter.
  • Following seat allocation, an applicant must report to the chosen college to complete the admission processes.

NEET 2025 Counselling- Mop Up round for deemed/ central universities/ central institute

Step 1- Candidates are required to fill a new registration form for the NEET 2025 Counselling mop-up round.

Step 2- Filling in the choices/locking in the choices.

Step 3- The authority will release the results of the NEET 2025 Mop-Up Round Seat Allotment.

Step 4- Seat allotted students have to report at the allotted medical colleges.

Step 5- A list of ten times of the registered candidates of several stray vacancies to be provided to Deemed / Central Universities in strict order of merit to be exhausted.

Step 7- Deemed/Central Universities will conduct the last stray vacancy round. There will be no Fresh Registration of candidates in the Final Stray Vacancy Round

What is Free exit and exit with forfeiture in each NEET 2025 counseling round?

  • Free Exit, only applicable in the first round of NEET 2025 counseling If a candidate given a seat in round 1 does not report/join the college to which they were assigned,. In such a case, they will not be penalized for it.
  • Exit with forfeiture- If a candidate is offered a place in round 2 but does not wish to accept it, they can still withdraw with forfeiture by losing the security deposit within the time limit. Candidates who took the allotted seat in the second round are not entitled to quit or surrender the seat, and they are also not authorized to participate in state counseling.
