States/Institutes Using JEE Main for admissions

There are a lot of states where the JEE Main scores are used to determine B.Tech admissions. Respective State Counselling authority uses JEE Main Rank for seat allocation Process. As per the latest Update, Uttar Pradesh’s Engineering Colleges use JEE Main rank for offering B Tech admission. Earlier, UP candidates were supposed to attempt UPSEE, but now it has been scrapped. All the aspirants will be selected based on their performance in the JEE Main.

Q1. How many institutes are expected to participate in JEE Main 2025?

Candidates will apply for admission to 31 NITs, 25 IIITs, and 28 GFTIs based on their JEE Main marks. Various state and private colleges also accept JEE Main scores for offering admission.

Q2. Which states accept JEE Main scores for admission?

Many states accept JEE Main results as a criterion for admission. Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan are just a few states that award students based on their JEE Main performance. The following states don’t conduct any state-level entrance tests. Henceforth, admission seekers have to apply through JEE Main score.

Q3. What is the admission procedure for participating institutes in JEE Main 2021?

To be considered for admission, candidates must qualify for JEE Main 2021 and register for JoSAA, a centralized counseling process. Following registration, candidates must choose a college and a course based on their qualifications. The JoSAA authorities will announce the allotment result online based on your preferences and rank.

Yes, 31 NIITs will be participating in JEE mains.

Q7. Can I get into IITs without giving JEE?

No, it is impossible to secure admission to IIT without JEE Main score. At first, you must attempt JEE Main and be required to satisfy the JEE main minimum qualifying criteria. Then only you will be eligible to undertake JEE Advanced exam. To secure admission to IIT, you must attempt both JEE Main and advanced.

Q8. What are the JEE Main admissions requirements and deadlines for Bhutan, Nepal, and Bangladesh students? Is there a quota or reservation set out for them?

There is no quota or reservation system for candidates from Bangladesh, Nepal, or Bhutan. These students come into the overseas category and should fill out the JEE Main application form accordingly.

Q9. My parents are of Indian descent, and while we are now all citizens of other countries, I have studied in India since I was in class two. Is it possible for me to apply for JEE Main 2021? Which of the categories will I fall into?

You will qualify for the JEE Main Exam if your parents have Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) credentials. In other cases, you will be required to apply as a foreign candidate.
