Gujarat CET Tie-Breaking Criteria

In case GUJCET examinees have the same marks on certain occasions, their ranks on the merit list cannot be the same. The authorities follow the GUJCET 2025 Tie-Breaking Rule in the following order.

  1. Students who score higher in Physics and Maths are given preference.
  2. If the tie continues, priority is given to students with higher scores in Maths and Chemistry.

If the tie remains unresolved, the sectional marks for all categories are compared. Therefore, based on the final score, students are shortlisted, and the GUJCET merit list 2025 is prepared.

GUJCET 2025 Merit List

The authorized authorities will release the merit list. They will prepare the merit list for the students based on their GUJCET results. Students can check their merit ranks through the GUJCET merit list by logging in to the official portal using their application number.

Students who are eligible for GUJCET counseling and seat allotment are those whose names appear on the merit list. The authorities allow students to raise objections to the provisional merit list. After considering objections raised by the students, the authorities will release the final GUJCET merit list 2025.

Gujarat CET Normalization Policy

The GUJCET exam conducting authority will use a normalization policy to calculate the final score. The final score of GUJCET 2025 will be considered as the normalized score. This normalized score will help the exam authority create the GUJCET 2025 merit list based on the student's performance in both the entrance exam and the senior secondary exam. When calculating the marks, 60% of the total weightage will be given to the student's 10+2 result, and 40% of the weightage will be allotted to the entrance exam result.

Normalization of marks is a grading practice used to assess the student's performance fairly in the entrance exam. The marks scored by students may differ depending on the difficulty level of different sets, and normalization is done to eliminate such factors when determining the student's merit.
