Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering [GATE]
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national level competitive entrance examination conducted especially for Master of Engineering (ME), Masters in Technology (M-Tech), and some of the direct Ph.D. course admissions in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other institutes/universities across India. IIT Kanpur conducts the GATE 2025 exam, but usually, the conducting authority is taken by IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, and the Indian Institute for Science, Bangalore (IISC Bangalore), on a rotational basis on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB - GATE).
Many public undertakings also use the marks secured at GATE to recruit qualified candidates for dignified job designations. A total of 27 papers will be conducted as part of the GATE 2025 examination. Here, the candidates can apply for a single paper, which should be based on their qualifying UG or their future admission plans. When using the form of their choice, the candidates must keep in mind the institutions' eligibility criteria where they are seeking admission.
