BLDE Association established V.P. Dr. PG Halakatti College (Bijapur Lingayath District Education Association). It came into existence in 1980 and is located in Ashram Road, Bijapur of Karnataka State. The goal of creating BLDEA's VP. Dr. PG Halakatti College of Engineering Bijapur was to offer affordable, high-quality engineering education to students in adjacent states and North Karnataka. After receiving accreditation from Karnataka University Dharwad, the college began operations with the three fundamental areas of civil, mechanical, and electrical, each with a 40-student intake. The leading educational group in North Karnataka is BLDEA. It has a history spanning over a century and 75 educational institutions operating under its auspices, including public schools, research institutes, professional institutes, and colleges of humanities and social sciences.
AICTE has approved BLDEA Engineering College to offer technical education and is recognized by Karnataka Government. Presently, it is recognized as an authorized college to transfer the technology & courses in association with VTU Belgaum. Recently NBA inspection has been done. BLDEA Halakatti College Bijapur offers B Tech in 7 branches and M Tech in 5 engineering disciplines. Aside from engineering, the college offers B Arch, MBA, MCA, and Ph.D./ MS in Eng. (by research).
The knowledgeable, skilled, and experienced teaching team uses cutting-edge teaching strategies, resources, and top-notch labs to present the curriculum's contents. As a result, four of the BLDEA Engineering College B Tech programs—civil, mechanical, computer science, and electrical engg have received accreditation from the NBA. In addition, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) also granted the college accreditation status, which will last for five years starting in 2018. BLDEA Engineering College B Tech fees are INR 1.2 Lakhs per annum.
BLDEA Engineering College admission to the B Tech is based on KCET, followed by counseling administrated by KEA. NATA scores are used to regulate admission to the B Arch. Students applying for PG courses must attempt the State level KPGCET Examination. GATE scores are also considered for offering admission to M Tech. However, the final selection is based on BLDEA Engineering College Cut off. Therefore, students seeking admission under the merit/CET quota must ensure the cutoff requirements.

In a recent recruitment drive, more than 100 companies visited the campus. BLDEA engineering college's highest package is around 12 LPA, offered by Gaian Solutions. In contrast, the average package stood at INR 6 LPA, offered by Wipro. More than 600 students got a job offer letters.
