Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University, also known as Kota Open University, was established in 1987 as a pioneering distance learning institution in Rajasthan. The UGC Committee, headed by the late Prof. G. Ram Reddy, observed that "the distance system in Rajasthan is well established and has the potential of growing into a full-fledged Open University," which gave rise to the idea of establishing an open university in the State of Rajasthan.
The primary goal of VMOU Kota is to provide educational opportunities to a larger population, particularly disadvantaged groups like SC/ST, rural and remote residents, women, in-service workers, and others. VMOU has seven regional centres across all the major cities of Rajasthan and a special centre in New Delhi. It offers admission to the UG, PG, Diploma, and Certificate Programmes in various disciplines at its designated study centers. The streams include Science, Computer Science, Humanities, Literature, Education, etc.

Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University Admission
Students willing to be admitted to the distance UG Courses must complete the application form on the official website of the Vardhman Mahaveer Open University. For admission, students must fulfil the HSC or equivalent eligibility criteria in any discipline from a recognized Board. Interested students can submit the application form at their regional centres.
Admission to all the PG courses (except MBA and MCA) is offered based on merit in the qualifying examination. The University does not conduct any entrance test for the same. VMOU also accepts lateral entry admissions to the M.Sc and MCA programs.
Vardhman Mahaveer's open University B.Ed
B.Ed program is considered one of the best in the University. The B.Ed program lasts two years.
- To be considered for enrollment in the VMOU B.Ed program, candidates must possess a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks in all subjects. Vardhman Mahaveer Open University B.Ed Fees is INR 15,680.
- The entrance exam scores are used to determine admission to the B.Ed program. The previous academic records will also be considered for the final merit list.
- Vardhman Mahaveer's Open University Result for the B.Ed Exam will be available on the website. Students who clear the exam will be eligible to attend the counselling session.

VMOU B.Ed Entrance Exam will be conducted through offline mode
only. The Question Paper will be available in Hindi and English. There will be five sections in the question paper. A total of 150 questions worth 450 marks. Vardhman Mahaveer Open University MBA
The Vardhman Mahaveer University Distance MBA offers three areas: human resource management, financial management, and marketing management. Admission to the MBA program is determined by the university's VMOU MET entrance exam.
- To qualify for the MBA program at VMOU, you must satisfy the following requirements: An accredited bachelor's or master's degree in any field with at least 50% marks from a recognized institution.
- Candidates with three years of supervisory, managerial, or professional work experience and a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university are also eligible.
- The VMOU MET entrance exam scores are used to select MBA program students. The VMOU MET is not required of applicants who have received acceptable scores on the CAT, MAT, or CMAT entrance examinations.

Vardhman Mahaveer Open University MCA
Students willing to be admitted to the MCA must fill out the application form available on the official website.
