Uttar Pradesh Textile Technology Institute (UPTTU) is a Government institute modestly started in 1914 as Government Central Textile Institute with affiliation to Agra University. The Institute came into the current form after merging two top institutes: Department of Textile Technology in Kanpur and Thomson Civil Engineering College of Roorkee, in the academic year 1937-38.
The Institute is currently affiliated with AKTU, Lucknow, and offers two Engineering courses, such as a B.Tech course with Textile Technology, Man Made Fibre Technology, Textile Chemistry & Textile Engineering, etc. M.Tech course Textile Chemistry and Textile Technology specializations.
- UPTTI Kanpur Admission process for B.Tech course is on UPSEE, and M.Tech is based on Counseling held by the AKTU, Lucknow.
