The University of Lucknow, also known as Lucknow University, is a public state university established in 1920. It is one of the oldest government-owned institutions in India. The University's main campus is located at Badshah Bagh, and another campus is situated at Jankipuram. Raja Sir Mohammad Ali Mohammad Khan and other visionary leaders initiated the idea of starting the University. The University's vision is to develop human resources for further knowledge through teaching, research & innovation. The mission is to create a place driven by values enriched by cultures to promote economic & spiritual advancement for society. University of Lucknow NAAC Grade is A. Besides, prestigious educational surveys have ranked it among the Top Universities in India.
The college provides a comprehensive education to potential students in all disciplines. The total number of departments in the University is more than 45. In addition, the University caters to more than 16000 students. Lucknow University courses include both undergraduate & postgraduate programs across various disciplines. The governance of the University Of Lucknow is done using a hierarchical system of chancellor, vice chancellor, registrar, and many more prominent leadership positions.
Lucknow University Admission to UG and PG courses is granted based on the entrance test. There are different streams like arts, commerce, law, fine arts, and science in which courses are offered. Those seeking admission are mandated to take the Lucknow University Entrance Exam. The exam will be conducted separately for both UG and PG courses. Lucknow University Exam Syllabus has various elements that lead to proper personality development. - GIRL'S HALL's main campus includes a list of hostels like Chandra Shekhar Azad Hall, Golden Jubilee Hall, Kailash Hall, Nivedita Hall, and Tilak Hall. The second campus includes Dr. B R Ambedkar Hall and Lavanya Hall
- BOY'S HALL includes Acharya Narendra Dev Hall, Birbal Sahani Hall, Subhash Hall, and Lal Bahadur Shastri Hall
- A Yoga center is attached to the Institute for Human Consciousness & Yoga Sciences that provides world peace based on ancient yogic knowledge
- The computational facilities include a university data resource center and a central facility for computational research
- The canteens are prominently located to provide fresh food at low prices. They are accessible from all parts of the campus
- Sports: There are outdoor & indoor sports facilities to deal with varying backgrounds. There are plans to construct internationally standardized sports facilities. All these activities provide appropriate physical & mental therapy
- Arogya Bhawan is a major center providing medical facilities for students & staff. It is equipped with all the basic facilities for all the students. Regular health camps are organized periodically to ensure the proper health of its students
