The Tamilnadu College of Engineering was founded in 1984 and promoted by the Tamilnadu Technical Education Foundation Regd. The main focus of the TNEC institute is to inspire young aspirants in the technology world, give them the confidence and courage to face the latest new challenges, and succeed in the chosen fields. The Tamilnadu College of Engineering is recognized by the Tamil Nadu government, approved by the Indian Technical Education Council in New Delhi, and affiliated with Anna University. The college is accredited to the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), AICTE New Delhi. The TNCE has a 150-acre campus with 5 lakh trees.
- The university's main objective is to maintain and develop the institution as career excellence, with the R&D facilities providing a solution for the development of industries and ensure that young people work in the engineering profession with high confidence and value train competence and integrity to gain acceptance internationally.

The college has separate shelter facilities for girls and boys, where 200 and 500 aspirants can occupy all the best facilities.
