SSNCE, known as SSN, was established by Dr. Shiv Nadar in 1996.The institute has a campus of about 250 acres. The SSN houses aesthetically designed infrastructure buildings with modern computers and internet facilities, state-of-the-art workshops, seminar rooms, well-stocked libraries, playgrounds and sports, Auditorium and a covered stadium with a gymnasium.
- The total number of faculties in SSNCE is 275 faculties, which make up a proportion of 1 faculty for every 15 students. 201 faculties are PhD students.
- The university environment is well maintained for advanced development, personal growth and for students mainly for free thinking. While SSN students are immersed in academics, the university outside the classroom has much to offer. The university offers a lot to students, as well as lessons that include sports, recreational activities and cultural activities.
- The institution has a strong alumni network of alumni events that serve as a platform for alumni each year to return something to the SSN and to share their experiences with current classmates. It strives to provide first level technical knowledge along with the training to students deserving of diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. It is ranked 27th engineering colleges among all in India 2017 by MHRD.
- SSN Institutions has also signed memoranda of understanding to carry out research projects with top recruiters such as Infosys, IBM, HCL and others.
The institution has initiated a prosperous tradition of more than 600 scholarships that are recommended every year the students won. The scholarships are awarded to meritorious students according to their academic performance during the qualification exam, and several scholarships are awarded according to the criteria of merit and means, postgraduate scholarships and sports scholarships. The hostels are provided separately. Hostel fees for boys will be around INR 1.05L and for girl’s hostel fees is nearly INR 67.2K with all comfort and basic needs.
