Sri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering and Technology is a self-financed and unaided institute offering Technological and Engineering education since 2008. This is an AKTU-affiliated college in Lucknow, and this college has also been selected for TEQIP national project, which the World Bank funds. SRMSCET is consistently among the top institute and has been ranked among India's top 200 colleges in the survey conducted by India Today in 2019. This institute has also been ranked 33rd best private engineering college in North India.
SRMSCET has an individual placement, training, and development cell, which provides full-time guidance regarding the placements. The TDP cell takes up the challenges and tries to train students with proper industrial training. There have been 83% of placements with an average package of 3.7 LPA in the previous years, and the top box was around INR 12 LPA.
Sri Ram Murthi Smarak College inspires and encourages students with good merit and economically weak. To support them, they offer scholarships and financial help. The trust has granted 3crore rupees as scholarships for deserving students. SRMSCTE also provides a stipend of INR 6000 to students pursuing M.Tech and M.Pharm for 1st year and 2nd year INR 7000 per month. Students who have qualified GATE or GPAT for M.Tech or M.Pharm will receive INR 12,400 per month.

SRMSCET offers five streams under the BTech course. Admission to these courses is made based on 10+2 scores and exam scores. Students applying to PG engineering courses at SRMSCET can choose from various specializations in the Master of Technology degree (MTech).
- SRMSCET offers four specializations under the MTech course.
- Admission to these courses is based on the candidates' marks in graduation.
- Students must have a BTech course in the respective specialization with a minimum of 60% graduation to be eligible for the admission procedure.
- They should also have 60% minimum marks in 10+2 from a recognized board.
