SDM Institute for Management Development, Mysore, was established by Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational Trust in 1993. It is a much-admired non-profit educational trust that administrates over 40 well-established educational institutions in Karnataka State. SDMIMD has been affiliated with the University of Mysore. SDMIMD supports, nurtures, and inspires its students to realize their full potential and show their creativity and innovation as successful leaders in the industry. SDMIMD Mysore has emerged as one of the premier B schools in India.
SDM Mysore offers AICTE-approved and NBA NBA-accredited PGDM Degrees. It also has an MBA equivalent status by the Association of Indian Universities. In addition, the SDMIMD Mysore MBA equivalent PGDM degree has been recognized at the International level by ACBSP-USA and EFMD-EPAS. SDM Institute Mysore is the first management institute in India to get dual accreditation. In the Indian wing of the world-renowned QS ranking, SDMIMD, Mysore has been rated in the top-most diamond category by I-gauge. These notable accreditations have propelled SDM College to be among the Top Global Business Schools.
Apart from PGDM, the college offers 1 one-year Post Graduate Certificate in Management (PGCM), which is AICTE-approved. It also offers a doctoral program, a Ph.D. in management, under the SDMIMD Research Unit. For admission to the SDMIMD Flagship course, PGDM will be based on CAT/ XAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ GMAT/ ATMA scores. SDMIMD has been tied up with nearly 20 foreign universities for student exchange programs to strengthen PGDM and offer students international exposure. Some of them are Heilbronn University, Germany, EAE Business School, Spain, Shanghai University, China, and many others. SDM Institute for Management Development Admission
Students who have completed their graduation with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks can apply for PGDM or PGCM. SDMIMD Mysore Admission Process comprises four stages: Applicants Shortlisting, Applicant Interview, Offer Letter, and Confirmation. SDMIMD Mysore application form will be available online on the official website.
- Applicants Shortlisting: At first, applicants will be shortlisted based on their consistent academic performance, entrance test score, and extracurricular activities that include sports, theatre, fine arts, and work experience.
- Applicant Interview: Shortlisted applicants will be asked to attend a personal interview. It will be held at several centers across India; the same will be mentioned in the application form.
- Offer Letter: Students will be selected based on the overall selection parameters. In contrast, the selected students will be intimated by Phone/Email/Mobile. And their admission seat will be blocked. Such students have to visit the SDMIMD Mysore campus and pay the tuition fees for 1st year to confirm their seats.

SDMIMD Mysore placements 2019-21 batch recorded a 100% placement. Some of the highlights are given below-
- SDMIMD's average package offered was 7.7 LPA.
- It has been witnessed that the highest package offered was 10 LPA.
- A total of 48 recruiters took part in the placement drive.
- A total of 23 new recruiters joined the final placement drive this year.
- 12 Pre-placement offers (PPO) were offered, out of which 2 were accepted.
