Raichur Institute of Medical Science is a government medical college in the state of Karnataka. It offers MBBS and other medical courses. Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences Admission
For admission to the MBBS, the students have to appear and pass the NEET after finishing the 12th class. The counseling for MBBS will continue till all the seats are filled up. 15% of seats will be filled up through All India Quota, and 85% of the seats will be filled up through Karnataka state counseling. The AIQ counseling is conducted by the NTA in multiple rounds, i.e., Round 1, Round 2, Mop Up Round, and Stray rounds, as per the availability of seats.
Students have to submit their NEET UG score and valid proof of address and pay the course fees during counseling to complete the admission process for the medical college. NEET UG registration is currently going on, and the exam will be held on May 5.
Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences eligibility
Here are the basic eligibility criteria for the courses:
- To qualify for MBBS, pass the NEET UG exam, you need at least 50% marks in 10+2.
- For postgrad courses, passing the NEET PG exam is necessary.
- During counseling, a minimum 50 percentile is required for the General category.
- For SC/ST/OBC (including PWD of SC/ST/OBC), a minimum of 40 percentile is needed.

Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences Facilities
The hostel facilities are quite decent, and the college campus is very good. It is also well-connected by road and rail routes. The hostels for boys and girls are separate and have all the basic amenities.
RIMS has a hospital that provides students with practical insight into the various medical procedures. Students in their final year are required to practice here as part of the curriculum. The hospital has a bed capacity of over 500. Apart from this, the institute has other facilities such as common rooms for boys and girls, a side laboratory, and an auditorium. The institution also has a 1200 square meters library, which has separate reading rooms for UG and PG students. It also has a number of modern lecture halls and well-maintained laboratories for the students to use.

MBBS and MD are the only two courses offered in Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences. MBBS course offered annual intake is 150 and MD programme annual intake is 10 almost 2 seats per MD discipline. The institute is public so it’s obvious the admission is through entrance score. I heard that the course fee structure is low and even some sort of scholarships facility is also available. MBBS duration period is 5years 6 months and MD course duration is 3 years. Institute follows the rules and regulations of RGUHS for teaching curriculum and syllabus in the college. Internship with stipend is provided in 4 years in civil hospital for experience purpose.
RIMS was founded in the year 2007 and it is one of the good government medical college in Raichur. Currently am pursuing MBBS course in final year and after completing this year in additional I must do internship in associated hospital. RIMS Scholarships are given for the meritorious candidates and even reserved categories can avail the scholarships.RIMS admissions are strictly provided on the basis of entrance exam score. I took admission on the basis of NEET rank . Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences fees for MBBS course is actually feasible to pay since it is the government aided college so fee is less comparatively it costs around 50,000 per annum hence for the entire course duration it costs around 2.5 Lakhs.
