Birla Institute of Technology Mesra Placement Cell Roles & Responsibility

BIT Mesra is a Deemed University, which AICTE, UGC and NBA approve. It has a great reputation at the national level and also at the global level. The institution offers a world-class technical education. It also prepares them with the practical aspects of learning. Owing to these BIT Mesra has a great placement percentage. Every year students get lots of opportunities. Various reputed global companies offer these.

BIT Mesra has a well-structured placement cell. The placement centre is responsible for all the affairs related to the placement of the students. The work of the cell includes connecting with the recruiter to prepare the students for placements. Along with offering students job opportunities, the institute also provides students with internship opportunities. BIT Mesra promotes students to take part in internship activities. It helps the students in enhancing their skills and giving them industrial exposure.

BIT Mesra prepares students to compete according to industry standards through its various placement training programs. As per the BIT Mesra placement 2019-20 report, 120 companies participated. There were a total of 831 job opportunities offered to the students. The highest CTC offered was 49.76 LPA. B Tech Department bagged it. The average CTC was 11.76 LPA. The placement percentage recorded by BIT Mesra was 92%. Under the MBA category, the highest CTC was 10.2 LPA. It is the second-highest package bagged by the student. The most number of students hired are from the Engineering and Technology department.

BIT Mesra placement cell

The institute has a well-organized placement cell. It acts as a bridge between the potential recruiters and the students. The cell has connected with various organizations over the years. They bring out the best opportunities for the students. Along with that, they also prepare students for the assessment round. The placement cell conducts various workshops, seminars, and lectures to enhance the candidates' soft skills. They also prepare them for aptitude tests, personal interviews, and group discussions.

The placement cell runs through a well-laid system. The procedure followed by the cell is as follows.

It contacts various organizations to take part in the placement session.
The companies provide the job description, details, CTC, etc. The cell shortlisted the companies based on that.
The cell then sends the invitation to the shortlisted companies.
Meanwhile, it also trains students and motivates them to participate in the placement session.

BIT Mesra placement process

The BIT Mesra placement procedure follows these steps.

The placement cell connects with multiple companies throughout the year.
The candidates in their 7th semester or final year can register themselves for the placement.
The cell then sends invitation letters to the selected companies to come for campus placement.
The interested candidates then apply for the placement round. The placement round consists of various sets of evaluations.
The candidates will have to go through the aptitude test, personal interview round, or G.D.
The placement cell will keep the students updated with their status.
The organizations will announce the final result and release it by the placement cells.

BIT Mesra 2019-20 placement

In 2019-2020 Placement Drive, the institute recorded 92% of the placement percentage. The highest salary offered was 49.76 LPA. The average salary was 11.76 LPA. A total of 120 companies took part in the recruitment process. There were a total of 813 job offers given to the students. The engineering and technology branch recorded the highest placements. Amdocs recruited the highest number of candidates. It provided job opportunities for 33 students.

Various other leading MNCs, reputed startups, and well-recognized organizations have also participated in the placement. They have offered great packages to the students.
