NMKRV College for Women, in Jayanagar, Bangalore, is managed by the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samiti Trust. It began in 1971 as a Pre-University College with 150 students, later becoming NMKRV Degree College for Women in 1973. Over time, the College has grown and gained a good reputation, becoming one of the Best Degree Colleges in Bangalore. The College is affiliated to Bangalore University.
NMKRV College Jaynagar Bangalore gained autonomy in 2006 and was recognized as a 'College with Potential for Excellence' by the UGC. The College got a high grade from NAAC and is now preparing for another review. The College is involved in connecting higher education with rural areas through the Unnath Bharath Abhiyan initiative. The courses are available in Aided and Self-Finance. It offers BA, BSC, B Com, BBA, BA. At the PG level, it offers MSc, M Com and MA. In addition, it offers an integrated B.Ed programme. There is also an IGNOU Study Centre at NMKRV.
