Justice K. S Hegde laid the foundation for Nitte Mahalinga Adyanthaya Memorial Institute of Technology (NMAMIT) in 1986. NMAM Institute of Technology Udupi previously was VTU affiliated. Since June 2022, It is a constituent college of Nitte Deemed to be a University. NMAMIT has been ranked 138 among Top Engineering Colleges in India by the MHRD NIRF Ranking framework. AICTE-CII Survey of Industry Linked Institutes has placed NMAM Nitte under the "Platinum category" for having high standards of tie-ups with industries. The college actively collaborates with reputed international universities and organizations for student/faculty exchange programs, placement, and internships. The education quality standards are ISO certified 9001-2008 by DEKRA Netherlands. The NMAM Institute of Technology Courses is NBA and NAAC accredited.
The Institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs. NMAM Institute of Technology degree courses is available in B Tech, BSc, M Tech, MBA, and MCA. Students wishing to apply for NMAMIT Admission in any UG and PG courses must fulfill all the eligibility norms defined by the college. NMAM Institute of Technology Fees vary according to the courses and categories. For instance, NMAM Nitte engineering fees B Tech is INR 2 Lakhs annually. Students who fall under the scholarship category must pay INR 1.2 Lakhs. The fee structure for NRI is approx. INR 2.5 Lakhs/-In addition, all the categories must pay the NMAMIT exam fees of INR 10,000 per annum.
NMAMIT Nitte Campus is located in the Western Ghats of India. The campus is on the road to the Kudremukh ranges, spreading over 125 acres of land. The campus has all the essential amenities to offer the best learning exposure to the students. On campus, facilities include an advanced laboratory, Library, Cafeteria, Hospital / Medical Facilities, Auditorium, Seminar Halls, Bank, ATM, and Postal & Courier Service. NMAM Institute of Technology dorms has separate blocks for boys and girls. Seven blocks for Boys and four for Girls. The hostel has mess provisions that serve both veg and non-veg. NMAM Nitte hostel fee ranges from INR 65,000 to 1,60,000.

NMAM Institute of Technology Admission Process
NMAM Institute of Technology admission to the B Tech requires students to attend the NUCAT examination. Nitte University Common Admission Test (NUCAT) is an entrance test conducted by Nitte Univerity. When NMAMIT was under VTU affiliation, it previously admitted students based on KCET and COMEDK entrance tests. From the academic year 2022-23, NMAMIT seat allotment will only be through NUCAT.
Candidates who fall under the NRI Category (Foreign Nationals/PIOs/Overseas citizens of India) are eligible for NMAM Institute of Technology Direct admission. The assortment will be based on the marks secured in the qualifying exam. In contrast, the seats will be offered based on inter-se-merit. Applicants seeking admission to B Tech under NRI Category must fill out the NMAMIT application form online, available on the official website.
Admission to the NMAMIT BSc Hons course is made per KEA's guidelines. However, students are required to pass the 10+2 science stream. Graduates in any stream with a least 50% are eligible to apply for NMAM Institute of Technology MBA. It accepts valid NUCAT, CAT, KMAT, XAT, ATMA, or MAT scores. Students who are applying through NUCAT must pay INR 2.5 Lakhs per annum. Besides, NUCAT Exam is mandatory for admission into MCA or M Tech.
The merit list for admissions is the NMAM Institute of Technology's cutoff ranking in NUCAT. Students can choose B.Tech seats from the general and NRI categories. Students need to provide their applications online. Following registration, students need to appear for the Remote NUCAT online examination. After the merit list announcement, students need to attend the seat counseling session.

The NMAM Nitte Placement is called Abhyuday. The department originated for student counseling services in 1990. Abhyuday conducts workshops and training programs to improve student employability. The training sessions focus on team building, soft skills, and technical competence. Over 150 companies assist the NMAMIT by offering industrial exposure and internship to students.
