- Hostel- National Institute of Technology Silchar has eight boys’ hostel and three girls’ hostel. The institution's hostel is very well organized with all facilities including rooms, beds, typical TV, drinking water facility, and food facilities. The hostel fee is INR 14,000 per semester.
- Classrooms- NIT Silchar classrooms are modernized with air conditioning and e-learning facilities. The classrooms have projectors, which is very helpful in teaching with power pint presentations.

Admission in B. Tech at NIT Silchar
National Institute of Technology Silchar offers UG level B. Tech course in total six specializations. Admission into all UG courses is provided based on seats allocated by the Joint seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) from the list of candidates selected by all India level JEE Mains entrance examinations. In addition to this basic eligibility mandatory for admission is the candidate must have completed 10+2 with at least 50% aggregate marks by taking physics, chemistry, and mathematics as the compulsory subject from a recognized board.
Admission in M. Tech at NIT Silchar
National Institute of Technology Silchar offers full-time M. Tech programs of 2 years duration. NIT offers M. Tech a total of six specializations. Admission into PG M. Tech courses is provided based on student's scores in the GATE entrance examination followed by Centralised Counselling. Basic eligibility mandatory for entry into M. Tech courses and appear for the GATE entrance examination is that candidate must have passed under graduation in relevant subjects with at least 50% aggregate marks from a university or board which is recognized.
Admission in MBA at NIT Silchar
National Institute of Technology Silchar provides MBA courses under three specializations of Marketing, Finance, and Human Resource. Admission into various MBA courses is offered to the students with a valid CAT/MAT/CMAT entrance examination score followed by group discussion and personal interview. A good score as per the cut-off marks is mandatory to get shortlisted for admission. In addition to this basic eligibility required for admission, the candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any Science, Commerce, and Humanities branch with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
Admission in Ph.D. at NIT Silchar
National Institute of Technology Silchar offers Ph.D. programs in different modes like regular, Sponsored, and part-time. The institution provides Ph.D. courses under three specializations; Engineering, Science/Management, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Basic eligibility mandatory for admission into Ph.D. courses is that candidate must hold a Master’s degree in relevant subjects with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a university or board which is recognized.
