Mother Teresa Women’s University earns a distinctive place in the higher educational system as the only University exclusively devoted to women’s issues. The University was established in 1984, by the enactment of Tamil Nadu Act, 15. As enunciated in the Act, it is given the responsibility of monitoring, offering consultancy services, and research in the area of Women’s Studies.
College have translated their life into a vocabulary of love for the poor and the downtrodden. Hence the very naming after Mother Teresa lays special emphasis on the University’s commitment to the welfare of the rural women folk, destitute women and women in impoverished state besides furthering the advancement of learning and prosecution of research in Women’s Studies.
