Maulana Azad National Urdu University: The College of Directorate of Distance Education was established in 1998. The DDE operates on the premise of propagating Urdu and reaching the unreached. Education of the underprivileged is at the heart of the mandate of DDE. It caters to several thousand Urdu-speaking educational needs people's educational needs through its undergraduate and graduate programs through its undergraduate and graduate programs.
DDE at present offers three Post-Graduate, three Under-Graduate, and eight PG Diploma/Diploma/Certificate programs in the distance mode, apart from the B. Ed. program. DEC has approved all these programs, and the NCTE recognizes the B. Ed. program. The total number of students registered in distance education is over 1,00,000, spread over 169 study centers all over India.
