The College is popularly known as M R College, one of India's oldest institutions established in 1879. The College is located in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, was found by Sri Pusapati Vijaya Rama Gajapathi Raj-III. Since its establishment, the College is catering to higher education to backward and economically weaker section students of the society. The Institute has been recognized by UGC and got its autonomy in 1987. The College has also been graded B by NAAC in March 2009.

Maharajah College Admission
The Institute offers admission to the students who can reach the eligibility and selection criteria. Students applying for any program offered by the Institute will have to have qualifying marks from a recognized board to get admission. The Institute presently offered 15 courses at UG and PG levels to students with various disciplines. The Institute will give UG and PG programs entry to the students who have good marks in intermediate and Bachelor's degrees with qualifying marks.
- Candidates seeking admission for the UG program will score marks in the 10+2 examination with 50% marks.
- Admission for the PG course will be through marks scored in Bachelor's degree with 50% marks from a recognized board.
- Application forms for programs offered by the Institute will be available online on the official page of the College.
Maharajah College Result
The Institute conducts examinations semester wise, therefore for UG courses, there will be three semester-end examinations for UG courses, and for the PG program, there will be two-semester end exams. Once the examination is done, the Institute will provide the admission online. Candidates seeking results will have to fill in personal information like hall ticket number or ID and password provided by the College to view the result.
Maharajah College Campus
The campus of M R College spread over 17.93 acres of land with six hostile buildings to students with various other facilities. The Institute has 21 labs, 51 classrooms, ten classrooms, ten computer rooms and many more. The Institute also has a massive library with 50,000 books, journals, magazines for staff and teachers. Thus, the campus has all the facilities that will make the students and faculties life easy.

The Institute will have six buildings with labs, hostels, banks, staff rooms, a library, and more facilities. In addition, the Institute has a separate building for every department, with different seminars halls, Audi and conference rooms. The facilities offered by the Institute are as follows.
- Medical: The medical facility at the campus has a 24/7 health care facility and a trained nurse who will monitor the patients at the hospital. The healthcare has clean and sterilized types of equipment, tidy sheets and floors.
- Library: The library at the M R College has over 50,000 books which are organized subject-wise. Students or staff can get access to any books provided by the library using the library card.
- Hostels: The Institute has a boys and girls hostel inside the campus with all the facilities to make the students have a comfortable atmosphere.
- Laboratories: The Institute has 21 labs with all the modern equipment for the students to have the practical session. The computers at the labs are updated to present-day needs. Students have access to any information under the guidance of faculty.
- Internet: The campus of M R College is completely wifi-based for the students and staff. Candidates will be given their login ID and Password to access the Internet. The Institute will provide limited logins for the students.
