Lukhdhirji Engineering College (LE college or LEC Morbi) is located in Morbi, Gujarat. Originally, it was established as a polytechnic college known as Morvi Technical Institute (former name) in 1931. Later in 1951, it was upgraded into a full-fledged engineering institute when the Late, honorable Thakore Lukhdhirji of Morvi put forth his visionary idea of advancing the technical education of MTI to include technical degrees. Thus, MTI was renamed LE College.
LEC Morbi is administrated by Gujarat Government and is affiliated with GTU. The Institute received approval from AICTE Delhi in 1994. LE college Morbi diploma was the course offered initially to the students. But now, LE College Courses include B Tech in 11 disciplines. In contrast, PG M Tech Program is available in three disciplines.
The rules for Lukhdhirji Engineering College course admissions is according to the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), Gujarat. Admission will be based on their merit ranking in the Common Entrance exams. BE course requires scores from either GUJCET or JEE mains. And ME/M Tech course requires GATE scores for admissions. The total student intake for both UG and PG courses is 656. However, LE College Morbi Cut off criteria determine the final selection of the candidates.
LEC has a campus area of 55 acres. The academic area of the campus consists of the engineering department blocks, the administration building, library, canteen, Nature park, auditorium, gym, a badminton court, and a swimming pool. The LEC has its own 6 acres of cricket ground with a pavilion. LE college Morbi hostel has eight blocks for boys and two for girls. The hostel house a total of 1200 students. The hostel charges of the Institute are at a nominal price of INR 1,100 per year.
LEC aims to provide affordable engineering education. The Institute is a platform for sustainable engineering practices with its state-of-the-art infrastructure. The college has experienced staff with in-depth knowledge of the subject matter. The LE college Morbi faculty-student ratio is 1:3. This Morbi college hones students' talent with its Startup & Innovation Policy. The Institute helps students make their startup dream a reality with the funding under the SSIP. Lukhdhirji Engineering College Placement
LE College Morbi Placement and Training Centre was established in 2006. Since then, the department has strived to provide campus placement for the students. The department has infrastructure for placement, like pre-selection talks, aptitude tests, group discussion rounds, and interviews. The cell conducts training sessions, workshops, and expert talks to help guide the students in their chosen careers. LEC offers placement training programs to develop student's employability skills.
The Personality Development Cell of LEC Morbi is a student body organization. It assists students in enhancing their soft skills such as communication, leadership, stress management, analytical reasoning, and behavioral skills. The Institute also has a finishing school that aims to provide students with better employability opportunities. The finishing school has 80 hours of classes. The syllabus consists of soft skills and English language training.
