Laximnarayan Institute of Technology is commonly known as LIT Nagpur is established by the government to offer higher education in the stream of chemical engineering in the region of Nagpur since the year 1942. This is said to be the oldest college for offering chemical engineering.
- LIT offers four years B.tech course in the specializations like Petroleum technology, oil technology, food technology, plastic and polymer technology, pulp and paper. LIT is affiliated with RTM, Nagpur University.
- LIT has a good record in placements where many chemical industries have hired students passing out from LIT. The companies are National Organic Chemical Industries Limited, Thermax India Ltd., BPCL, Philips Carbon Black Ltd. Etc.
