Jeppiaar Institute of Technology Course Admission
The admission is made based on Anna University guidelines. You will have to follow the rules and regulations laid by the institute. Here below are the eligibility criteria for the courses:
Jeppiaar Institute of Technology B Tech
To join Jeppiaar Institute of Technology, candidates need to meet certain eligibility criteria:
- For 12th pass-outs: Must have completed 12th grade from Tamil Nadu H.SC (Academic) or an equivalent recognized by Anna University with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as subjects.
- For direct admission to the second year (lateral entry), Diploma holders Should have passed the Diploma Examination in Engineering/Technology from the State Board of Technical Education & Training, Tamil Nadu.
- Eligible candidates can apply through either the Jeppiaar Institute of Technology Management Quota or Government Quota.
Qualification eligibility includes:
- Passing the HSC (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
- Attaining minimum marks: 45% for the General category, 40% for the Backward class, including backward class Muslims, MBC, DNC, SC, ST, and SCA.
- You must have minimum average marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry together, as well as in related subjects, Vocational theory and Practical.
Selection Criteria:
- Selection is based on counseling conducted by Anna University and JIT.
- Aggregate marks for the 10+2 qualifying exam are considered to prepare a merit list.
- Consortium of Self-Financing Professional, Arts & Sciences Colleges in Tamil Nadu prepares the rank list for Management Quota seats, while Anna University Chennai prepares it for Government Quota seats.
- Since Jeppiaar College is a Christian Minority Institution, 50% of admissions are through Government Quota Seats and 50% through Management Quota Seats.
- For government quota seats, students must undergo TNEA Counselling.
