 Add Review

Institute of Chemical Technology Mumbai is a state-funded deemed university. Aside from Mumbai, it comprises campuses in Bhubaneswar and Jalna. It emphasizes training and research in Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy and Chemical Technology. It was established in 1993 as Bombay's Department of Chemical Technology to expand India's chemical science and technology knowledge base. It was renamed the Institute of Chemical Technology in 2002. ICT Mumbai was granted total autonomy under the TEQIP of the World Bank in 2004.

In 2008, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, converted the autonomous institute status into a Deemed-to-be-University on the strong recommendation of the UGC through a peer review procedure. The Institute and IIT Kharagpur have signed an MOU to work together on various research projects. Among the branded institutions, ICT's help to wealth creation must rank among the best. As an outcome, ICT Mumbai NAAC Grade is A++.

Students can choose from various bachelor's and master's degree programs. The university also provides scholarships to help cover costs. Courses in ICT Mumbai include B Tech, B Pharm, M Tech, M Pharm, MSc and PhD. Admissions will be granted based on the entrance test. Besides, students must satisfy the ICT Mumbai Cut off criteria defined by the Institute.

ICT has been creating technologies that are frequently being made available for sale. Technology for hydrogen generation by water splitting serves as an example of this. Successful pilot-scale scaling of the technology allowed it to be transferred to ONGC for commercial implementation. In 2012, the Maharashtra government recognized it as an Elite Status and Center of Excellence in the State Assembly due to its outstanding achievement. This unique distinction, given to just one school nationwide, speaks volumes about the ICT's accomplishments.
