Established in 1924, Indraprastha College for Women is one of the oldest women's colleges and a constituent college of the University of Delhi. The institute has been accredited with an "A" grade by NAAC and has an active Internal Quality Assurance Cell. Located in the landmark of Delhi, ICW offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses under three different streams of Humanities, Commerce, and Mathematical Science. The institute has an enrollment of approximately 3500 students for a wide range of courses.

The institute also provides various facilities for indoor and outdoor sports activities like a swimming pool, judo floor, basketball court, squash court, tennis court, gym, handball, and other such facilities to promote the sports activities. The college campus also has a branch of the Canara Bank.
IP College Hostel facility: The college Offers hostel facilities that can accommodate around 450 students. The institute got 2 hostels, the Indraprastha College girls’ hostel, which houses 170 girls, and the Kalavati Gupta hostel, which accommodates 280 girls. The hostel offers the option of both AC and Non-Ac rooms.
